Welcome Message
It is with tremendous pride that I begin this New Year’s Newsletter! The students and staff here are extraordinary in their talents, abilities and achievements! They consistently demonstrate their caring and compassion each day and continue to impress and humble me with even their smallest actions. Our tremendous focus on high academic achievement and optimizing student success is demonstrated in our classrooms each day!
When we look back on the achievements of our students since the fall, we proudly acknowledge their growth academically and socially. With the continued positive encouragement and cooperation of a very supportive community, our students have made significant gains both individually and collectively.
Our students continue to benefit from a wide variety of academic and extra curricular programs and opportunities offered by a skilled, knowledgeable and caring staff. Activities such as running club, volleyball, gymnastics, band, choir, skating, student secretaries, milk monitors, lunchroom helpers, peer mediators, PALS, kindergarten helpers, safety patrollers, etc. provide students the opportunity to demonstrate how productive and successful citizens create a truly wonderful environment.
Mrs. Logan and Mrs. Walker are off on maternity leave as they anxiously await their “little bundles of joy”. Please welcome Miss Standring for Mrs. Logan and Mr. Jones for Mrs. Walker.
Looking ahead, the rest of the school year will naturally be filled with more learning and many rewarding experiences. January will bring us together on many occasions - our Annual Family Skate Night is on Jan. 27th, and a Parent Information Session for our Kindergarten and Primary families about the Kidslink Tools for Life™ program is on Jan. 21st. In February, students will have an opportunity to participate in many learning activities brought to us during our Third Annual Literacy Week which will take place the week of Feb. 22-26.
The staff of Country Hills Public School sincerely thanks those parents who have taken the time to write us a note or passed along comments of appreciation and support during the past year. We extend best wishes to our students and their families for a happy and healthy 2010!
